Girls Trip...

Every year for the past 4 years, for Sharlee's birthday in April, she has recieved tickets to Kenny Chesney. Well, this year, the concert was on the night of Kenlyn's birthday. So, we loaded up the girls' cousins and my sister Cami and headed to Salt Lake. Kenlyn wanted to go down there and do all of her school shopping and then spend the night at a hotel. What a great way to spend her birthday!

Cami and the girls seemed to have a fetish with High Heels! No store was passed up without trying on the super high heeled shoes!

Hanging out and shopping! The picture of Kenlyn and Raegan...they are holding everything in while we open the back of the car! We bought so much, it almost didn't all fit! Thanks for the great time!

Fencing

Chris decided one of his big projects for the summer would be to put new fencing around his horses. Big project and big money! Horses are too dang expensive! Anyway, now that I have vented......!!! So we bought all the supplies and he has worked hard to get it done. The morning of his birthday, the girls decided to surprise him. They went out and oiled all of his post for him without him asking! He was so happy! My girls are amazing! Good job girls! Love ya both!

Killdeer

For the past month or so, we have had a nest in our driveway that two killdeer birds built.

They take turns sitting on the nest....
....and protecting their eggs!
Killdeer are very protective of their nests! Every time we have attempted to get close, the birds act like they are hurt. They start making all kinds of noise and they fan their feathers out so it looks like their wings are broken. Then when they think they have your attention, they move away from the nest so you will follow and leave the eggs alone! A couple of times the birds would get really aggressive and we thought they were going to attack!

On Sunday night, when I went to check the eggs, they had started to crack. I was so excited! If you look real close you can see the tiny holes at the top.

Well, the internet said that as soon as the feathers dry on the baby birds, they fly away. So, I thought for sure that I would miss it during the night. When Chris got up on Monday morning, he went out and said they were all gone. I was so sad! But when I went out about twenty minutes later, I found one baby left about 5 inches from the nest.
I was thrilled to see one still there! The bird was still really wet, so I figured I had some time. I went in the house and came back out around 20 minutes later and the bird was already gone! Dang it! Although, now, we can go out and look at the empty nest without being attacked by a momma and papa killdeer! It has been fun to watch them this summer and learn about them. I hope they come back next year! Even though Chris is okay with them gone.....he will finally be able to mow the weeds down where their nest was!

Sunburn...

On Friday, the girls decided to go swimming at the Logan pool. I got them ready, packed them a lunch, packed the SUNSCREEN and sent them off! Sharlee being the good big sister that she is, made sure Kenlyn had her sunscreen on.....but, she wanted a good tan. So, NO sunscreen was used on Sharlee's body! Hence, the pictures....

Needless to say, I think Sharlee has learned her lesson! The pictures don't show it, but all around the big blisters are little tiny ones!

UPDATES.....

Sharlee turned 16 on April 10th! Wow, I can't believe I have a 16 year old! She got a car for her birthday and when she woke up the morning of her birthday, this is what greeted her! Some of her friends thought this was a great way to bring in her 16th birtday! She thought it was funny until she had to clean the vaseline out from under the door handles and off the steering wheel!

This is my trip to Florida. My sisters and I had such a good time! We got to visit with my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jake and our two cousins, Deric and Shannon. They showed us all over their area of Florida. The weather was wonderful, so warm and beautiful!

This is our Dolphin tour. While on the boat, the seagulls were following us and of course, one pooped! Thank heavens it hit Cami and not any of the rest of us! She is the one that can handle it the best. We wouldn't let her wipe it off until we all got a good picture!

Science Fair

Fielding Elementary held their annual science fair a week or so ago. Kenlyn was so excited to participate. Her project was "Worms & Lights." She wanted to know what worms would do under different colored lights. I think she had more fun playing with the worms, then she did learning about them!

Here she is at the school, with her display, waiting for the judges......
Being judged.....

.....And the winner is..... Today at school, the announcement was made! KENLYN TOOK 3RD PLACE! Good job Kenlyn, you did an awesome job!
